Disney’s Blizzard Beach to Reopen With New Rules

Blizzard Beach Reopening Date
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park in Walt Disney World

New rules to expect when Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park reopens at the Walt Disney World Resort in March 2021.

As we’ve previously announced, Disney’s Blizzard Beach reopens to guests on March 7, 2021. Just in time for spring break, this ski-resort themed water park will start housing guests in its pools, loungers, and waterslides. But how will things be different this time around?

First, Disney has an updated mask policy for its water parks. Guests ages 2 and older must wear masks in the common areas of the park. However, facial covers may not be worn when swimming or going down waterslides. We believe that this is for safety reasons. Furthermore, guests may remove their masks when seated to eat or drink.

Second, Disney’s Blizzard Beach does not require a reservation to visit. For now, guests will just need a valid water park ticket or access with their Annual Passport. Keep in mind that these rules could change depending on demand. However, if Disney is not implementing this rule, then we expect demand is not very high at the moment.

Both of Disney’s water parks closed last March due to national shutdowns. However, as part of the phased reopening, it’ll be roughly a year once Blizzard Beach reopens. Typhoon Lagoon does not currently have a reopening date.
