When is Walt Disney World’s Hall of Presidents planning to add a Joe Biden animatronic to the classic attraction?
Disney’s Hall of Presidents showcases animatronic figures from every United States president in history. The story of the presidency is told in front of a massive screen and the realistic figures are all eventually brought to life at once. It’s a patriotic homage to technology and legacy alike.
During the attraction’s nearly 50-year-old history, every sitting president has provided audio transcript for the show. So when will president-elect Joe Biden find his way into this attraction?
We expect that the Biden animatronic will debut in summer or fall 2021. In the past, Disney unveiled President Barack Obama in Summer 2009, just before the 4th of July holiday weekend. Since presidents are inaugurated in January, it took about six months to complete.
Typically, when the Hall of Presidents adds a new figure, the attraction goes under extensive refurbishment. Before President Obama debuted, the attraction was down from October 2008 through July 2009. With President Trump, it closed in January 2017 and reopening in December 2017. So, about a 9-month closure is typically needed for the change.
However, most presidents featured in Hall of Presidents served at least two terms, which gave a better reason to change up the attraction. Since the recent term was only half as long, Disney may elect not to change as much. Past additions included added audio for well-liked figures such as President Lincoln.

Naturally, an attraction like the Hall of Presidents can become very political. When the President Trump animatronic debuted, it was met with mixed feelings. Some even said that the figure didn’t quite look right. Nevertheless, we think that Disney always takes in careful consideration when designing these advanced animatronics. Which means that future President Biden’s could be the most advanced one yet.
