Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has only been open a week, and its already affecting park hours. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has hour changes in December. The park will now open at 7AM daily from December 12 – 21, 2019.

Since the park is opening so much earlier, Extra Magic Hours have now switched to evenings. Resort hotel guests can experience two hours after park closing to enjoy the attractions. The evening Extra Magic Hours are scheduled on Sundays from now through the end of January 2020.

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will have more availability—or gain Extra Magic Hours. Instead, we expect that Disney has implemented these changes so that guests wanting to avoid the crowds can show up later. It’s just an easier way to spread out crowds, especially for those who purchased the discounted Mid-Day Magic Tickets, which allow for entry at noon. Mid-Day Magic tickets expire on December 21, 2019.

Still, there’s no word if Disney will change the hours again this month. As holiday crowds start arriving, we’re anticipating some more tweaks to help guests ride Rise of the Resistance.
