The Walt Disney World Resort announced that its Blizzard Beach water park finally has a reopening date for March 2021!
When the Walt Disney World theme parks reopened in July 2020, many of the experiences did not return. Among dining, attraction, and experience closures, the two Disney water parks have yet to reopen. However, today Disney announced that one of its popular water destinations would reopen just in time for spring break.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will begin hosting guests on March 7, 2021. The ski resort-themed water park will also reopen its restaurants and popular lazy river. We expect that the water park will be popular over the spring and the summer, as Disney readies for more guests.
Disney seemingly makes this decision as vaccines become widely available in the United States. A likely low attendance at both water parks would require them to close either way. Until Disney sees an influx of tourism and reopened international travel, we’ll continue to experience this phased reopening.
