Disneyland is throwing an all-new Merriest Nites holiday party for 2021 but will the event be worth the ticket cost?

On the heels of Oogie Boogie Bash, Disneyland will launch a new festive event. Disney Merriest Nites brings holiday magic to Disneyland over a handful of evenings. Each night is separately ticketed and cannot be accessed with a daytime ticket or Magic Key. But with prices as much as $175 per night, will Merriest Nites be worth the cost?

First, it’s important to note what Merriest Nites offers. There will be six mini holiday parties within Merriest Nites. Mickey Mouse will host a Victorian-themed party on Main Street, Tiana in New Orleans Square, Elsa in Fantasyland, Miguel in Frontierland, Lilo & Stitch in Adventureland, and Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland. In addition, there are limited number of tickets so guests will have easy access to the attractions—including many rides—that will be open during this event.

Furthermore, attractions like A Christmas Fantasy Parade, character appearances, and holiday photo ops are available during the event. Merriest Nites runs from 8pm – midnight on select nights. Guests will also receive early entry beginning at 5pm, just in time to see any holiday fireworks at Disneyland.

Not all lands will be available during Merriest Nites. Lands closed during the events are Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toon Town, and Critter Country. With all of that in consideration, it’s important to note that Merriest Nites will not have complimentary snacks. There will be holiday treats for sale at the event like cookies and hot chocolate. Special merchandise will also be available for purchase.

So is the party worth spending $165-175 per ticket? Since many of the holiday attractions run during the day, guests may not find much value in going to one of these events. However, the holidays could be very busy this year at Disneyland. So anyone wanting limited crowds, easy parade viewing, and bonus holiday attractions may want to sign up! Just keep in mind that your ticket will only allow 7 hours total inside of the park.

Merriest Nites takes place at Disneyland Park on Nov 11, 16, 30 and Dec 7 & 9, 2021. However, we expect that once these dates sell out, Disneyland will add more. So far, all event dates land on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tickets go on sale September 14, 2021 “no earlier than” 9am PST.
