UPDATE (3/11/20): Avengers Campus officially opens on July 18, 2020!

Marvel fever doesn’t appear to be dying any time soon. As fans eagerly await the upcoming Black Widow film starring Scarlett Johansson, they’ll have another big Marvel project to look forward to shortly after.

Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort opens its Avenger Campus in Summer 2020. The immersive new Marvel land has a Spider-Man ride, a PYM Test Kitchen restaurant, and a Doctor Strange show.

So, when will Avengers Campus open in Disneyland? Since Disney hasn’t officially announced a specific date, we can only speculate. Construct is coming along, but still looks months away. We’re guessing a July or August opening date unless things speed up soon – which could happen! Typically, Disney opens its attractions during the third week of June, if they are ready.

It’s also difficult to tell how much progress the Spider-Man ride has in the recent months. The ride is built within the former It’s Tough to Be a Bug theatre, so taking progress photos is virtually impossible.

Besides the first Avengers Campus opening date, it’s also important to note that the second ride won’t likely debut until 2023. The second attraction doesn’t have a show building yet, so we’re anticipating another few years for that ride.

Walt Disney World will receive its first Marvel-themed attraction in 2021. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an epic storytelling roller coaster set to launch at Epcot for the Resort’s 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, we don’t expect many Marvel attractions afterward. Guardians is one of the unique franchises that Universal Studios doesn’t have the sole rights to in its contract. Of course, things could always change in the future, but as of now, the best place to see Spider-Man and Captain America in Orlando is at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.
