A review of the colorful and tasty Voodoo Doughnut snacking spot in CityWalk at the Universal Orlando Resort.
Voodoo Doughnuts was once only a small shop in Portland, Oregon. With pink, brightly colored walls and stunning donuts, this treat station was a popular stop for tourists. However, the themed donut store certainly had enough pizzazz to land in the middle of a place like Universal’s CityWalk.
Now guests to the Universal Orlando Resort (and Hollywood) can enjoy these once exclusive treats. Even better, Voodoo Doughnut really delivers in both fun and flavor! The inside of the store pops with zigzags, vibrant walls, and wild decor. Of course, there are also rows and rows of different donuts to check out.
We stopped by this month to create a fresh review of Voodoo. Luckily for us, there wasn’t the typical line winding from the storefront. We walked right in and grabbed a couple of fan favorites. We also loved some of the holiday decor like magenta Christmas trees!
The Voodoo Doll donut is shaped just you’d expect. While ours could have been decorated a bit better, it still popped with flavor. This chocolate-icing-covered, raspberry-filled donut seemed to scream when we bit into it. The pretzel steak through its body also added some fiendish fun.
Voodoo also creates some awesome donuts for cereal fans. The “Oh Captain, My Captain” is covered in vibrant Captain Crunch. Each piece is jammed into a the icing atop a cake donut. There’s also a Fruit Loops donut that’s very popular and even more colorful!

We recommend stopping by Voodoo Doughnut before heading into the parks for the day! The entrance is just before the split toward Universal Studios Florida when you enter through CityWalk. If you’re staying at a nearby hotel, you can easily walk to Voodoo from there, or take a ferry. To get updates on the best Universal Orlando tips and discounts, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter.
