The Walt Disney World theme park reservation details have become available for those with annual passholders and daytime tickets.

When Walt Disney World first announced its reopening, it also revealed a special guest reservation system. Meaning, that to visit a Walt Disney World theme park, guests would need both a ticket and a reservation date. The system is called Disney Park Pass and we have the details for how it will work:

Disney hasn’t announced the specific theme park reservation date (though June 22 at 7am is very likely), but plans to roll out these invites to those with annual passports, hotel reservations, and existing tickets very soon. Furthermore, Disney plans to roll out invites to those with annual passports, hotel reservations, and existing tickets. Expect a contact via e-mail or the Walt Disney World app. Once available, guests can reserve their theme park visit date via the Walt Disney World app or WaltDisneyWorld.com. However, guests cannot park hop for the time being. Those who’ve purchased a park hopper should have received a credit or reimbursement (expect an e-mail with information).

If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World this year and already have tickets, make sure that you link them to your account ASAP on WaltDisneyWorld.com (or use the app). You’ll also need a phone with cellular or wifi connection to scan into the parks and to order meals. At this time, Disney offers complimentary wifi for all visitors. If you don’t have a ticket to Walt Disney World, it will become available soon (sign up for our free e-mail newsletter to get updated on resumed ticket sales).

For those with Annual Passports, you’ll soon see an extension on your pass. Furthermore, even if you could park hop, we don’t expect that availability for some time. However, having an existing ticket gives you a leg up on future reservations.

The Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom open first on July 11, followed by Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT on July 15. We anticipate that guest demand will be high for the first week or two and then taper off. As it appears, Disney isn’t opening all of its dining and hotel options due to low demand. Overall, it’s safe to say that the typical crowds are staying home this summer.

Furthermore, the Disney reservation period will likely last through 2021. We’ve also seen that reservations are booking at least until September 2021. In other words: get used to theme park reservations. Of course, this change isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, in could be great for those wishing to visit the theme parks without the crowds. Time will only tell how long guests wait for the attractions without FastPass+ and reservations.

In the future, we expect theme park hours to expand as well as guest availability. To get updates on Walt Disney World’s reopening, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter! You can also follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
