The epic nighttime spectacular Universal’s Cinematic Celebration returns this year a big surprise for theme park guests.
Just when we thought that nighttime shows were dead for 2020, Universal brings back this fan favorite. Universal’s Cinematic Celebration is a nighttime lagoon show with amazing water features, projections, and fireworks. Movies like Harry Potter and Jurassic Park are brought to life in with sights and sounds that are truly jaw dropping.
The show takes place on the weekends only, possibly through the end of the year. However, Universal hasn’t rolled out its entire calendar just yet. Here are the weekend dates so far:
Oct 24 – 25: 9:45pm
Oct 31: 9:45pm

Though Universal runs its theme parks at limited capacity, Cinematic Celebration made its return to far fewer crowds. There still appeared to be some clustering of people, which we find a bit alarming. It’s tough to know why Universal made this call but fans were certainly thrilled as they lined up to experience the attraction once again.
From our experience at Universal Orlando, guests tend to keep to themselves. However, during shows we expect that there might be crowding. If you’re planning a trip to go, you can easily space yourself away from others and still have great views of the lagoon projections.
