The Universal Orlando Resort theme parks have updated to a date-based ticket pricing. Now guests will pay more or less depending on their day of visit.
A new ticket pricing structure rolled out for guests visiting Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Guests now pay a different price depending on which date they visit. One-day tickets to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure range from $109-$139 per adult (plus tax). However, Volcano Bay water parks tickets are still $80 or $85 per adult (plus tax). Date-based ticket pricing also changes for those purchasing multiple days.
Tickets are most expensive on busier days like weekends and holiday weeks. Furthermore, the best pricing comes on many week dates in September after the summer crowds have gone. The most expensive dates are during Thanksgiving week in November and around Christmas in December.

We’ve been waiting for Universal to roll out date-based ticket options for some time. After all, Walt Disney World offered a similar pricing structure beginning in 2018. Though the change comes at a strange time when guest attendance is very low, it’s entirely possible that Universal planned this change all along.
