The Universal Orlando Resort has lowered its physical distancing markers and removed temperature checks for guests.

If you’re visiting the Universal Orlando Resort soon, you’ll likely see a much more relaxed environment. Guests no longer have to pass a temperature check or stand six feet apart in most locations. These changes come after updates from local and state government.

Universal Orlando stated in a press release that “based on guidance from government and local health officials, as of Thursday, May 6, we are implementing three feet of social distancing throughout our destination and are no longer conducting temperature checks. All other existing health and safety protocols will remain in place.

During our recent trip to Universal Orlando, we didn’t see many guests abiding by the 6 feet markers. It felt like most guests did not stay wide enough apart, even in queues for the rides. However, as vaccinations are rolled out more widely in the states, the spread of the virus is much lower than before.

Due to these guidelines, we could see more guests entering Universal Orlando soon. In addition, the CDC may also lift the outdoor mask mandate which could affect theme parks.
