The Universal Orlando Resort finally confirmed this week that the Jurassic World VelociCoaster roller coaster will becoming to Islands of Adventure.

We’re excited to share that all the rumors are true: the Jurassic World VelociCoaster is coming to Universal Orlando! Set to debut in Summer 2021, this thrilling attraction has guests racing “through the jungle alongside raptors.”

Of course, this isn’t much of a surprise for anyone who has visited Universal Orlando recently (or for anyone who’s read our blog). The name became a registered copyright of Universal some time ago, so speculations were based on a solid foundation. Nevertheless, Universal kept everyone in the dark without an official confirmation. Now we have an official post by the theme park resort that details the exciting ride.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster is described as “a new species of roller coaster” for guests to enjoy. We expect multiple launch points, peaks, valleys, and even screaming raptors! Perhaps this could be Universal’s best coaster yet? Only time will tell (and Hagrid’s is a tough one to beat)!

At this time, it appears that the island theme will stay “Jurassic Park.” That isn’t to say Universal won’t switch it to Jurassic World Island or just Jurassic Island in the near future. After all, the original attraction, Jurassic Park River Adventure still exists with that theming. However, Universal Studios Hollywood has since reimagined that ride to the newer movies.
