In response to CDC guidelines, the Universal Orlando Resort has stopped their mask policy for fully vaccinated guests.
As of today, the Universal Orlando Resort no longer requires full vaccinated guests to wear face coverings. Since Universal doesn’t require proof of vaccination, the resort uses a sort of honor system. In addition, guests should remain physically distanced from other parties.
Here’s Universal Orlando’s new policy:
- Face coverings are no longer required for fully vaccinated guests
- We do not require proof of vaccinations
- Guests who are not fully vaccinated are still expected to wear face coverings while indoors
- We encourage all guests to keep a safe distance between travel parties
- We remain focused on maintaining the highest cleanliness and sanitization standards

Earlier this month, Universal dropped its outdoor mask policy for its guests. Since then, it appears that most do not wear them in public spaces. However, attraction queues and rides still required face coverings. That is, until today for fully vaccinated guests. A full vaccination means two weeks after the second dose of a 2-shot series, or after a 1-shot series.
Universal Orlando wrote on their website that they are making these changes “In accordance with CDC guidelines.” for fully vaccinated guests.
