Theme parks take advantage of the low winter crowds by sprucing up their attractions. During these times, big-name rides often undergo refurbishments. Jurassic World – The Ride received a quick refurb earlier this month.

Transformers The Ride – 3D closes on January 13, 2020 for a seasonal refurbishment at Universal Studios Hollywood. The theme park hasn’t explained what updates the ride receives, but we don’t expect anything major.

Refurbishments are great because they keep rides running smoothly for years to come. Inspections, paint touch ups, and sometimes minor fixes help keep these attractions in top shape.

Many times, licensing contracts also force these types of refurbishments. Keeping attractions in top shape helps keep the brands fresh in guests’ minds. After all, no company wants their product to come off as shabby or ineffective.

Transformers: The Ride 3D opened in the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood in 2012. However, it first opened in Universal Studios Singapore in 2011. A third, identical version of the attraction arrived in Universal Studios Florida in 2013. The ride uses 3D visual effects combines with actual set pieces to create a believable world based on the Transformers film series.
