This Major Disneyland Attraction May Have a Long Refurbishment in 2020

One of the theme park’s most popular rides may be down for updates!

Indiana Jones Adventure

It’s never great to hear that one of our favorite rides might close for an extended period of time. However, in many instances, this means some exciting new changes are in store. For example, Big Thunder Mountain, the Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Peter Pan’s Flight have all been enhanced during some long refurbishments.

Now we’ve caught wind that the Indiana Jones Adventure will likely close for an extended period in 2020. Recent permits filed by Disneyland show that the park intends to “remove and replace show set bridge to include steel structure, rockwork and planks.” This could mean that the bridge in the large chamber of the temple will finally start rocking again (an effect that was lost many years ago)! However, since its a total replacement, this also could mean that we’ll get an entirely new experience!

Disneyland has yet to schedule a refurbishment for its Indiana Jones Adventure. However, these major changes often occur in times with lower and discounted attendance, meaning February through early April. We’ll keep you post on these changes as they develop.
