The Child has arrived! Popularly known as “Baby Yoda” this toy is incredibly lifelike! While it only measures about 7.25″ (18.5 cm), it’s still the perfect doll size for kids. Created by Hasbro, the toy captures the same big-eyed cuteness as the character on Disney+.

As an animatronic, The Child moves when tapped on his head. He also makes cooing noises, waves his hand like he’s using “the Force,” and takes naps! The way his eyes blink while he coos is incredibly sweet. However, there is a slight motor noise when the toy moves. It’s not as noticeable when he’s making sounds. Nonetheless, its doesn’t distract from the toy’s overall sweetness.

One of the more surprising features are Baby Yoda’s moving ears. They have a rubbery, realistic texture to them. Their movement is for sure the most lifelike. He also takes a “Force nap” when laying down on his back. All of the movements are fairly easy to activate. He’ll also move on his own for a minute or so before eventually stopping.

The easiest way to activate Baby Yoda is to tap his head. You can also tap it 3 times for The Child to use the Force. According to the packaging, he performs over 25 unique sound and movement combinations. That means you may hear the same sound, but he’ll do a different body movement. Overall, we felt that there is enough variety to keep kids (and adults) entertained.

There’s also an easy off-and-on switch located on the toy’s back. You just have to lift his clothing a bit and switch it off. There’s also a “try me” mode for when its in box. Our toy came with 3 installed AA battery and a plastic Mandalorian skull necklace. We had to loop it a couple of times to keep it from hanging too low.
