Charita Carter is the Imagineer leading the upcoming ‘The Princess and the Frog’ ride replacing Splash Mountain at Disney parks.
It takes a true Disneyland fan to create Disney Park magic. Lucky for us, Imagineer Charita Carter is one of the theme park’s biggest fans. Growing up in Lompoc, California, Charita’s family would drive down to Anaheim to make magical memories every few years. Like most kids, Charita loved immersing herself in Disney magic and couldn’t wait her family’s next trip!
As an adult, Charita stepped into the Disney doors as an accountant for the company’s Imagineer team. Her hard work and dedication brought her up the ladder to creative producer. After 22 years of working for Walt Disney Imagineering, Charita Carter teamed up with Kevin Rafferty (Tower of Terror, Test Track, Cars Land) to create on the of the company’s best rides in decades, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
After the huge success of Runaway Railway, it only made sense to give Charita another project. Earlier this month Disney announced a ‘Princess and the Frog’ reimagining of Splash Mountain, and Charita was handpicked as senior creative producer. Her team will include Disney Legend Tony Baxter and several other Walt Disney Imagineeers.

The upcoming ride-through attraction, code named “New Adventures With Princess Tiana” takes place after the events of Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’ as the characters ready for a Mardi Gras celebration. It uses the same log flume ride system as Splash Mountain but with a fresh new story and exciting enhancements. With Imagineer Charita Carter at the helm, we can only imagine how magical and special this ride will feel for years to come!
