After Super Nintendo World soft opened in Japan many theme park goers wonder if the attractions will head to Universal Orlando.
Super Nintendo World isn’t set to debut in Japan until February 4, 2021, but soft opens have allowed guests to experience the attractions early! The multi-level land offers rides, shops, and dining based around Super Mario franchises. Guests can enter through warp pipes to see Princess Peach’s castle, collect coins, try specialty food items, and even ride Yoshi, and race in real-life Mario Kart!
But will Super Nintendo World also exist outside of Japan? It’s all good news for Universal fans! Nintendo recently confirmed that plans for attractions and experiences are also heading to Universal Studios Hollywood, Singapore, and Universal Orlando!
Hollywood’s version is set to open first, likely sometime in 2022. However, an official date has yet to be released. The Mario Kart ride and several other attractions exist within this land. Located on the park’s lower lot, guests can expect a much closer experience to the one in Japan (minus the Yoshi attraction). But what about the one in Orlando?
As of now, no construction has begun for Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World. Though it seems the Resort’s third park, Epic Universe, would get the land, nothing has been confirmed. Since Epic Universe is currently on hold, it’s entirely possible that Universal may opt to add Nintendo-based attractions elsewhere in the Resort.

Other attractions may be based on different properties such as Pokemon or The Legend of Zelda. None of these have been confirmed but it appears that Universal wants to incorporate more of the video game attractions that guests want to experience. Whatever the case, expect interactive experiences as well as ride-through attractions.
