Many wonder if Buena Vista Street is still open and free for guests visiting the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort.
After the Disneyland Resort closed in March of last year, guests went without stepping inside the theme parks for several months. That was until the limited shopping and dining experiences reopened for guests on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. Though only a handful of shops and dining—and no rides—were available, it still felt great to be back!
With the upcoming special event, A Touch of Disney, will Disneyland still offer free visits to Buena Vista Street? As it turns out, the answer is no. A Touch of Disney kicks off on March 18, 2021 and will allow guests to shop, dine, and see special new attractions (like character greets) inside the theme park. Because of this, Disney announced that Buena Vista Street will close on March 15th to visiting guests. After that point, guests will need a ticket to A Touch of Disney to enter Disney California Adventure.
We had hoped that guests could enter BVS when A Touch of Disney was not operating (the event runs from Thursdays through Mondays). However, that does not appear to be the case. Tickets for A Touch of Disney go on sale March 4.

Again, the final day to visit Buena Vista Street for free will be March 14th. Guests can still visit Downtown Disney to shop and dine there at no additional cost. Getting a reservation to Carthay Circle Lounge Alfresco Dining or Lamplight Lounge will get guests into the park for free.
