Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney

We visit the new Star Wars Trading Post store to discover merchandise, lightsabers, and more in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort!

If you’re missing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll for sure want to check out this exciting new store in Downtown Disney. The Star Wars Trading Post is home to tons of merchandise found both inside and outside of the unique land. The store officially opens to all guests on February 19, 2021, but we have an early sneak peek!

The store’s theme is a Resistance base found deep within the jungle. There are wires, satellites, and plenty of cool Star Wars-y junk hanging out the place. You can also snap a selfie in front of Rey’s Speeder found near the entrance of the store. If this spot looks familiar, it’s because it once housed the Rainforest Cafe (that closed in 2018). Though the restaurant stretched back further, the new store only occupies the front part where the retail section of Rainforest once existed.

Inside the Trading Post

The displays of the store look like pieces found all around the land. You can see features from Rise of the Resistance to canisters around Batuu. Every where we looked, there were hanging wires, netting, and wonderfully crafted features. While the outside still looks heavily like the old Rainforest Cafe, just a little imagination really transforms it.

Get your new Star Wars street gear here from Grogu tees to adorable backpacks. It’s both cold weather and spring wear in one line. We loved the unique designs as they’d be something you’d never quite find in the themed Galaxy’s Edge. However, that’s the beauty of this store, as it’s not tied to a specific timeline. Guests will be able to purchase popular Star Wars merchandise no matter which series they choose.

Porg plushies, move aside, because this awesome pet dianoga is ready to take home! The little one-eyed creature moves with certain commands and comes in a plastic carrying case. There are several other Star Wars critters to check out in a hollow styled after the Creature Stall in Galaxy’s Edge.

True collectors will love the awesome array of lightsaber hilts. These work with sabers constructed in Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Sadly, guests cannot construct one at the store. New hilts include Asoka Tano’s, and there are also kyber crystals and holocrons for purchase.

We highly recommend getting to the Trading Post early as spots are limited. You may have to wait in a virtual queue which we expect will be long for the first two weekends. Also, some of the more popular merchandise may ran out early. Guests can also purchase a Batuuan Spira gift card coin with a minimum $100 load (and an additional $4.99 service fee). The spira works in most Disney-owned stores and the Trading Post.

If you’re a legacy annual passholder, you can score a 30% discount on many of the items found within the store! These discounts are Monday through Thursday through February 25, 2021.
