Walt Disney World Closure Photos
Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World closed on March 15, 2020. Today, the usually lively Main Street, U.S.A. is empty, but still full of character. Updates continue on Cinderella Castle appear to continue, repainting the landmark gold for the parks 50th Anniversary next year.
The famous gates to the Magic Kingdom appear car-less in this image. Furthermore, Central Florida hasn’t seen this sunny site in years. Typically, Walt Disney World only closes for severe weather.
EPCOT experiences empty walkways, pavilions, and attraction areas. At this time, many Walt Disney World cast members still show up for work. Some will keep the parks in pristine condition during the closures. Others will work behind-the-scenes shifts without the bustle of resort guests. However, all Walt Disney World Resort hotels close at 5PM on March 20, 2020.
Photos of World Showcase display a still lagoon and lifeless streets. The International Flower & Garden Festival was scheduled through the next couple of months. For now, there’s no word if Walt Disney World will extended the festival’s dates.
Universal Orlando Park Closure Photos
An empty Universal Studios Florida shows the Transformers ride building and Hollywood areas.
A crowd-less Marvel Superhero Island in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The midway games have their curtains closed along with the shop and restaurant doors.
The pools of Universal’s water park, Volcano Bay, are still filled. Additionally, the slides are not running and nearby hotels are partially occupied. Like Walt Disney World, Universal closes its hotels at 5PM on Friday, March 20, 2020. However, Universal’s CityWalk closes March 16, 2020.
