Disney’s The Hall of Presidents has closed for its traditional refurbishment now that President Joe Biden has taken office.
At the dawn of a new presidential ages in America, the Magic Kingdom has closed a central attraction for refurbishment. The Hall of Presidents will likely host an updated show with a new President Joe Biden animatronic. Currently, the show has an animatronic version of every President in the history of the United States.
Located in Liberty Square, this iconic attraction is excellent americana storytelling. With a heavy sense of patriotic feeling, it evokes the same sentiments shared by Walt Disney in his time. Although the attraction has been controversial, depending on people’s political feelings, the story does a fine job giving an emotional backbone to the history of the country’s highest position.

Typically, Disney adds more complexity to the animatronics as time goes on. Which could mean that we’ll see an even more advanced President Biden, if Disney chooses to do so. However, recent budget cuts could keep things to a minimum. Nevertheless, we’re glad to see that Disney is keeping up with its tradition, despite these cuts. Biden is expected to record his audio in the coming months.
While there is no official date for the reopening on the attraction, we expect to see an animatronic President Biden debut in summer or fall 2021. In previous years, Disney debuted President Obama in Summer 2009, just before the 4th of July holiday weekend. However, with park attendance low, we could expect to see it open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in October.
