Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to close beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020 through the rest of the month. Disneyland Resort hotels remain open until Monday, March 16, 2020. Downtown Disney is not scheduled to close.

The news comes shortly after California Governor Gavin Newsom addresses public health concerns over coronavirus / COVID-19. While theme parks can stay open for the time being, Disney decided to shutdown its parks through the rest of the month. Thankfully, Disneyland Resort Cast Members who are not working will still receive pay.

Personally, we feel devastated by this news, but understanding. It’s important now that people stay out of mass social situations to prevent the spread of the virus. However, our hearts go out to the many families and travelers planning trips to the Happiest Place on Earth. If there’s ever a time that we’ve needed a place like Disneyland, it’s now – and, sadly, it’s not possible.

We plan to continue updating our blog and newsletter with helpful information for your next trip, whenever that may be. Hopefully, these measures will ensure that Disneyland quickly reopens.
