The Disneyland Resort reopens its theme park on April 30th, here’s what future guests should know before visiting on this date!

We finally have an opening date for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! Beginning April 30th, the Disneyland theme parks will welcome guests back into the resort. However, there are a few big changes to consider.

First, Disneyland will only be open to residents of California until further notice. Californians will need a both reservation and a park ticket to visit. FastPass and MaxPass will not be available until further notice.

Second, both indoor and outdoor rides are expected to reopen with the park. Disney has finished the refurbishments on Snow White and Haunted Mansion with newly added magic (special effects and/or scenes) to the attractions!

Third, not all attractions are available. Parades, fireworks, and characters meets won’t reopen until further notice. Instead, guests should expect to see Mickey, Minnie, Disney Princesses, and other characters greeting guests throughout the lands. These will likely be character cavalcades which consist of single parade floats or carriages. Additionally, we expect to see characters on top of buildings like they do in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Fourth, dining returns in a limited way. Most outdoor and quick-service dining spots can serve guests. However, California restrictions ban indoor dining at theme parks until further notice. Nonetheless, we don’t expect this to impact Disneyland too badly. Limited crowds means that Disneyland doesn’t need all of its dining locations open anyway.

However, Disney plans to announce those at a future date. Additionally, Disney’s Grand Californian villas still reopen on May 2nd for Disney Vacation Club Members.

Finally, Cast Members and Disneyland neighbors will be invited back first into the parks. Disneyland says that they’ll extend invitations soon and are expected to have dates before April 30th.
