Disneyland Raises Ticket and Annual Pass Prices

Disneyland raises prices for most of its ticket and annual pass options in 2020.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland

The Disneyland Resort increased most ticket and all annual passport prices today. Park Hoppers now exceed $200 on during peak season. It’s the first price increase we’ve seen since Disneyland opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

However, not all tickets have seen an uptick. The former value day ticket, now known at “tier 1” is still $104. Instead of its previous value, regular, and peak priced tickets, Disney has implemented a 5-tier system. One-day tickets now range from $104 – $154. Park Hoppers range from $159 to $209 per day.

The new ticket tiers are the closest Disneyland has come to a full date-based ticket system. Unlike Walt Disney World, where prices change nearly daily, Disneyland tickets stay fairly consistent. Weekdays outside of spring, holiday, and summer are mostly in the lower tiers. Weekends are in the higher tiers. The highest tier is reserved for spring break and likely holiday.

Disneyland bases ticket price on expected attendance. According to Disney, the price increases encourage families to visit on less-crowded days. For example, a family of four can save $200 just by visiting Disneyland on April 28, versus April 13, 2020.

Other Price Increases

MaxPass is now available for $20 per day (previously $15). To off-set this, Disneyland has added Monsters Inc and Autopia to the lineup of available attractions. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is coming shortly after.

We still believe that MaxPass is a great value, even at $20 a person, per day. On very crowded days, this option can help you skip the bulk of the line for most popular attractions. MaxPass also comes with unlimited digital downloads from Disney’s PhotoPass.

For now, parking has stayed the same. However, that isn’t to say that we won’t see increases later in the year. Depending on the popularity of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the upcoming Marvel-themed land, we could see another increase in the fall. In the past, Disneyland has prices in October.

Southern California discount 3-day tickets are still available for this spring. Children who live outside of the state can also save big on tickets. These special deals are also available with MaxPass at the previous $15 a day. For ticket deals, visit our Disneyland discount page.
