The Walt Disney World Resort is relaxing its mask policy for guests taking photos with some guidelines in doing so.

Beginning April 8th, guests visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks will be able to remove their facial coverings when posing for a photo. However, guests must be stationary and keep a safe distance from others.

Since the Walt Disney World Resort reopened in July of last year, its facial covering rules have only become stricter. First, neck gaiters were banned, followed by wearing facial coverings when first seating during dining. However, guests can now sip water in lines for rides as long as they are socially distanced. And this new during photos seems to be a much more relaxed approach.

Unfortunately, some guests have already broken this regulation and posed for photos without masks. We understand the want for this especially since masks block so much of the face. However, we do trust that Disney’s move with this is focused around their ability to keep guests reasonably apart.

With the rollout of the vaccines, we expect Disney to relax further guidelines later this year. To get updates on Walt Disney World, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter! You can also follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
