Carthay Circle Restaurant to Undergo Refurbishment

Carthay Circle Restaurant

Disney California Adventure’s top-notch Carthay Circle Restaurant to undergo a nearly month-long refurbishment at the start of 2020. Just as the holiday season concludes, Carthay Circle and its lounge will close from January 6 – 30, 2020.

Typically, when restaurants go under a refurbishment like this they reopen with fresh menu options. While there’s still no word on a menu change, the restaurant will likely keep favorites like the house biscuits. The next-door bar, Carthay Circle Lounge, will also be closed during the refurbishment.

Carthay Circle Restaurant opened along with Buena Vista Street in Summer 2012. In many ways, its Disney California Adventure’s fine dining spot akin to Disneyland’s Blue Bayou. Designed after Hollywood in the 1920s—as Walt Disney saw it when he first arrived in California—the restaurant gets its theming and name from the Carthay Circle Theatre, a movie palace in Hollywood’s Golden Age. Though the theatre no longer exists, Carthay Circle at Disney California Adventure keeps the same Spanish Colonial Revival design made famous in the “Roarin’ Twenties.”

Guests wishing to dine at Carthay Circle Restaurant can still make reservations outside of the refurbishment dates at Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app.
