A massive release reveals several new Star Wars and Marvel series slated for the Disney+ streaming platform over the next few years.
Disney is doubling—no, tripling—down on its streaming platform in the coming years. A fresh slate of stories based around the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars Galaxy will find their way on to the service. As fans crave more at-home content, Disney+ is expected to deliver exactly what they crave.
Marvel Series Coming to Disney+
- WandaVision stars the Scarlet Witch and her fallen android beau, Vision, in the first live-action Marvel series for Disney+. Told in a semi-sitcom style, the show will connect the events of the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film and Spider-Man 3. Release Date: January 15, 2021.
- The Falcon and the Winter Solider is a movie “told as a miniseries” starring Captain Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Expect plenty of action in this show that continues after the events of Avengers Endgame. Release Date: March 2021.
- Loki, one of the more highly anticipated series, follows the god of mischief through his adventures in another world. Owen Wilson also stars. Watch the trailer here! Release Date: May 2021.
- Hawkeye will star Jeremy Reiner and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Release Date: Late Fall 2021.
- What If? is an animated series that explores different scenarios within the Marvel multiverse. The original actors voice their characters within these varied storylines. Release Date: TBA
- Secret Invasion – Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury in this S.H.I.E.L.D.-based story alone with the shapeshifting Skrull, Talos, from Captain Marvel. Release Date: TBA
- Armor Wars follows the story of Stark Industries tech getting into the wrong hands. Luckily, we have War Machine (played by Don Cheadle) to set things right. Release Date: TBA
- Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams whose tech is enough to compete with Iron Man’s. Release Date: TBA
- She-Hulk stars Tatiana Maslany, a superhuman lawyer who defends other superheroes in court. Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner. Marvel says to expect many other past characters to show up for this series. Release Date: TBA

- Ms. Marvel stars newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, the series’ first Muslim-American superhero. A big fan of Captain Marvel, Kamala will also appear in the Captain Marvel 2 movie. Release Date: TBA
- Moon Knight didn’t have too many details released for it, but the show is on the slate. Release Date: TBA
- Two Guardians of the Galaxy pieces of content are coming to Disney+. The first will be a holiday special directed by director James Gunn (Release Date: Holiday 2022). The second is a set of short films called I Am Groot, which features baby Groot (Release Date: TBA).
Star Wars Series Coming to Disney+
- Andor stars Diego Luna as the titular role. The series began filming in November 2020. Release Date: TBA
- Obi-Wan Kenobi began filming this month and stars Ewan McGregor reprising the role. Set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Hayden Christensen will also return as Anakin Skywalker aka, Darth Vader. Release Date: TBA
- Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a computer animated series similar to The Clone Wars. Release Date: TBA
- Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka are two Star Wars television series taking place at the same time as the Mandalorian. Rosario Dawson will continue playing the live action version of Ahsoka Tano. LucasFilm confirms that all three shows will come together for an epic conclusion! Release Date: TBA
- The Acolyte will take place near the end of the High Republic, a prosperous era for the Jedi in the Star Wars timeline.
- Lando, based on Donald Glover’s version, will be an “event series” (which we take to mean, “miniseries”) around the events of the Solo film.
- Star Wars: Visions tells stories with an anime flare!
