Here’s what to expect this year for the Walt Disney World Resort holiday 2021 celebrations and attractions.
The Walt Disney World Resort holiday festivities kick off on November 12, 2021! Things are a little different this year as the resort celebrates its 50th anniversary at the same time. So expect both holiday and 50th attractions to “wow” guests at all four the parks. Here’s what to expect for the holidays this year:
Holiday Attractions – See holiday projections on Cinderella Castle at night, try seasonal snacks around the parks, and watch Main Street, U.S.A. come to live with plenty of seasonal decorations. Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Epcot will also have plenty of holiday decor in some of their lands. Keep your eyes peeled because you’ll likely see many Disney characters throughout the park wearing their holiday best. The Jungle Cruise holiday overlay known as “Jingle Cruise” is not on this year’s schedule (but this could change). However, Toy Story Land and the Hollywood Tower of Terror will be dazzled with holiday magic.
50th Anniversary Attractions – Instead of holiday fireworks, Disney World plans to show its 50th Anniversary Enchantment fireworks and the new Harmonious show at Epcot. Also expect to see Mickey, Minnie, and their pals in both their 50th EARidescent outfits as well as Christmas clothes. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is the newest ride—now open at Epcot—and requires at boarding pass to experience it.

Holiday Snacks – Look out for for some seasonal snacks like specialty churros, entrees, and more at all four parks. Epcot also hosts a holiday dining event with seasonal treats and sips from around the world!
Disney Very Merriest After Hours – This year, Disney scrapped Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and replaced it with a limited After Hours event. This extra-paid ticketed nighttime event has characters, a parade, snow on Main Street, and complimentary snacks. For more information about Disney Very Merriest After Hours, click here!
Though decorations stay up all day, expect to see some of the better magic come to life at night. The Tower of Terror, Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth, and Cinderella Castle all have special lighting features or projections.
