Due to new guidelines, the Universal Orlando Resort has dropped its face mask policy for outdoor spaces.
Guests visiting the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks no longer need to wear masks in outdoor spaces. However, indoor spaces, such as queuing indoors and hotels, still require face coverings.
Universal Orlando posted that “Face coverings are not mandatory outdoors. Guests are required to wear face coverings while at indoor locations, indoor hotel public areas and at all attractions when visiting Universal Orlando Resort, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Face coverings are available for purchase online, as well as at select merchandise locations in City Walk and the theme parks. Children under the age of three are not required to wear face coverings during their visit.“
This update comes after Universal lowered its physical distancing from 6 feet to 3 feet at the parks. In addition, guests must still keep 3 feet apart from other parties. Guests under 3 years old do not need to wear face coverings.

Universal is the first of the big two theme park resorts in Orlando to make this move. Disney, of course, being the biggest destination, hasn’t updated about a mask policy.
