The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is one beast of a ride that thrills guests like no other attraction at the Universal Orlando Resort.
Thrill seekers, get ready because Universal Orlando’s scariest ride yet has just launched. The Jurassic World VelociCoaster debuts on June 10, but we got a sneak peek to give you the must-knows before you ride. Here are five things you should know before you go.
1. The Ride Is (Mostly) Already Open!
Even thought the VelociCoaster is set to open on June 10, guests visiting Universal’s Islands of Adventure may be able to catch a ride early! For the time being, Universal is stating that the VelociCoaster is under “technical rehearsal.” This means that the new coaster isn’t promised to be open, could have limited hours, and may not all all of the features. However, if you’re planning on going before June 10, you have a big chance of experiencing it!
2. There’ Some Serious Air Time!
The VelociCoaster goes down giant hills, upside down, and even launches multiple times! With only a lap bar restraint, you’ll feel your body lift out of the seat before plunging. So if you’re not into high-speed, intense coasters, you may want to sit this one out.
3. Check out the queue even if you’re not riding!
Half the fun of the VelociCoaster is the amazing queue. There are show scenes, animatronics, and very awesome statues to check out. If you’re not riding, there’s an area for guest to wait (and a child swap). Usually a wait in here is about 20 minutes or so.
4. Get to the parks early
Universal’s Islands of Adventure often sells out on busy days. So we don’t recommend strolling in during the late morning as you may not be granted entry. However, if you’re staying on property, this mostly does not apply.
5. Single rider is available!
Like most new rides, the attraction already has long wait times (usually 90 minutes or longer). If you’re okay riding with a stranger, you can skip the bulk of the line with single rider. This option not always a lot shorter, but most of the time it is. Just look for the single rider line before you ride.
