Disney Themes Parks won’t reopen as planned. As of today, Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts won’t host guests until further notice.
Disney first announced theme park closures earlier in the month with an April 1, 2020 open date. Though we suspected that the theme parks would remain closed for much longer.
The news comes after the CDC recommendations to continue social distancing until mid-April. Since social distancing requires keeping at least six feet apart from most people, which is nearly impossible in a theme park setting.
Recently, the Disneyland app released an update with a new virtual queue section. Could this mean that more attractions will use the boarding pass system like Rise of the Resistance? And, if so, will Disney use it to help with social distancing? We don’t have the answers now, but anything is possible.
