The opening date for the Westin Anaheim Resort near the Disneyland Resort in California has been delayed again.
First announced in 2017, the Westin Anaheim was scheduled for Summer 2020. However, it appears that Marriott has pushed back the hotel’s opening until June 2021 (updated 3/9/21).
Westin Anaheim features over 600 guest rooms including more than 120 suites. Guests will have access to over half a dozen restaurants and bars. A rooftop lounge will boast views of the Disneyland fireworks. There will also be a pool and several high-tech meeting rooms.
Since the new hotel is run by Marriott, guests can use their points to book rooms. Best of all, the Westin Anaheim is just a 10-minute walk to Disneyland.
The announcement of this hotel came after the City of Anaheim’s tax incentive for 4-star properties. Disney attempted to build a fourth hotel, but after changing plans, they opted for a fourth Disneyland hotel tower. Current rates for high-end hotels range from $300-$400 per night. Disney’s three hotels typically start at $400 per night.
Though we’re a little sad that the Westin Anaheim won’t open until after summer, we’re expecting great things. After all, Marriott has a fantastic line up of hotels.
