Mickey and the Magical Map will not reopen at the Disneyland Resort but we do know what will soon replace the show!
When Mickey and the Magical Map opened in 2013, guests were treated to a colorful stage show filled with popular Disney characters. Since its debut, parents loved taking a break from their day by stopping by this show with their little ones. But since the parks reopened, Mickey and the Magical Map have yet to return. So, when will this stage show come back?
Sadly, Mickey and the Magical Map has closed for good at Disneyland. About six months after the initial park closures, performers in the show were informed that it would not return. Since then, the Fantasyland Theatre has sat empty. So what will replace this stage show?
Disneyland has two different shows set for the Fantasyland Theatre in 2022. The first will be “Celebrate Gospel,” a musical event taking place in February. Later in the spring, “Tale of the Lion King” will take the spot. This show was popular at Disney California Adventure in the past, so fans are looking forward to it at Disneyland.

“Tale of the Lion King” is a retelling of the classic animated film. However, we don’t expect the show to stay forever. Eventually, Disney will likely replace this show with a more permanent one. It’s also very possible that “Tale of the Lion King” will stick around if it proves to be very popular. To get Disneyland more updates, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter!
