When will the Walt Disney World water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon reopen for guests? We have some insight!
The two Walt Disney World water parks closed along with the rest of the Resort back in March of 2020. Though the four main theme parks have since reopened, the water parks remained closed. So when can guests expect to hop back into these parks?
Sadly, it doesn’t look like the Disney water parks will reopen in 2020. Insiders point to a March 2021 debut date. If this is true, then both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will have been closed for an entire year before opening again.
While Disney has yet to confirm an official reopening date, it appears that the Resort is waiting for guest demand to increase. The two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach were created to please guests wishing to enjoy the warm Florida weather by the pool and on water slides. Even guests visiting in the winter often enjoy these parks. Depending on crowd sizes, Disney may just reopen one water park in March.
Walt Disney World is already issuing partial refunds to many annual passholders with the water park benefit. Additionally, Disney will stop renewing the Premier Passport altogether until further notice. Guests wishing to renew will need to select a different annual pass until another option becomes available.
