When will Universal Studios Hollywood have its reopening in Los Angeles, California? We go over the possibilities.
Universal Studios Hollywood closed with California’s other big theme parks back in March. Though most only expected the parks to stay closed for a few months, it appears that the wait is much longer.
California only delivered guidelines for its theme parks in October, seven months after the parks closed. California stated that larger theme parks can reopen once a county has hit the “Yellow Tier” (4th tier) of its reopening plan. Yellow is the most difficult tier to achieve and needs a very small spread of COVID-19 for a number of weeks.
Since Los Angeles is currently in the “Purple Tier” (1st tier) we don’t expect that Universal Studios Hollywood will reopen for months. Some analysts says that California’s biggest theme parks won’t reopen until Summer 2021.
However, things could change. California Governor Gavin Newsom and his team made these rules. Which also means they could modify them. Right now, theme parks are asking to open in the 3rd tier, which is much easier to achieve. Sports venues and other entertainment can reopen under that tier.
