The Walt Disney World Resort stops annual pass sales for new guests—when will these passes return?
Only a few months after going on sale again, the Walt Disney World Resort has stopped selling new annual passes. Guests can no longer purchase or upgrade a regular ticket to an AP. This unexpected move comes just before the busy holiday season.
However, current annual passholders can continue to renew their Walt Disney World Resort APs. Disney is just not accepting new annual passholders for the time being. From what it sounds like, Disney plans to resume sales of these passes sometime in the near future. If we had to guess, we would expect annual passes to return some time in early 2022.

The Disneyland Resort made a similar move recently by discontinuing its most expensive Magic Key annual pass. It was the only pass that offered complimentary parking. However, all Walt Disney World Resort APs offer free parking and other perks. Disney announced today that passholders will have exclusive access to new merchandise and reserved seating for Disney KiteTails at Animal Kingdom.
