This week, Universal Studios released coronavirus statement and the company’s efforts to combat the virus. Until further notice, the theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood will remain open.
A statement released by the Hollywood Reporter details Universal’s commitment. “We are in frequent contact with health officials, our own health experts and others in our industry and we are closely monitoring the situation.”
Furthermore, Universal committed to “best-practice health and hygiene procedures” to combat the virus. Tasks include aggressive cleaning and other health protocols. Like Disney, additional hand sanitizers will be added to the parks.
The statement comes shortly after Disney announced its commitment to health at the parks. Disney shut down its Chinese theme parks in line with public safety standards. However, there is no sign that the parks will close in the United States.
