Our review of Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland at Disneyland covers the must-try snack menu options!
Tropical Hideaway is unique, jungle location is place aptly in Adventureland between the classic Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise attractions. Guest have the opportunity to sample tasty snacks and hang out as the boats from Jungle Cruise float by.
Here you can grab several new Dole Whip flavors and other sweet or savory snacks. There are more choices for Dole whip flavors here including orange and raspberry.
Tropical Hideaway has several unique snacks such as boa buns, dessert lumpia, and ramen. There are also the topping-covered Loaded Whip dessert. These come with your choice of swirled Dole Whip, fruit, and “crystallized hibiscus” flavors with Pokey cookie sticks. A loud gong is rung each time this is ordered!
We tried the sweet lumpia and the Bulgogi beef bao bun. The sweet lumpia is a fried pastry filled with sweet cream cheese and comes with pineapple dipping sauce — and we LOVED it. The bao buns have a curry flavor to them so if you like curry, then we recommend trying it.
To us, Tropical Hideaway seems like a mix of Trader Sam’s tiki bar at the Disneyland Hotel and the menu from the Satu’li Canteen in Pandora at Walt Disney World. That’s not a bad thing! Both of these dining spots are our favorite for their unique decor and delicious offerings. However, despite the rumors, Tropical Hideaway does not offer alcohol. For that, visit Trader Sam’s.
Longtime Disney Parks fans will appreciate the details left over from Aladdin’s Oasis including the magic carpet print. Rosita, an animatronic cockatoo from the Enchanted Tiki Room, tells jokes to guests. We recommend sitting by Rosita to hear her many jokes and watch the Jungle Cruise boats float by.
