After over a year of closures, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is now open at the Magic Kingdom.
Disney announced last week that the PeopleMover would return this weekend. After months of refurbishments and uncertainty for a reopening date, the PeopleMover finally came back on track. Guests began riding the attraction once again on Sunday, April 25 2021.
PeopleMover was one of the early attractions at the Magic Kingdom. Since its debut in 1975, guests have enjoyed this transport throughout the parks. Though Disneyland had the original, it ran its last ride in the mid-1990s. Because of this, the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is the only remaining of its kind.

Originally created as a prototype of public transportation by Disney, the attraction takes guests through several scenes of a retro-futuristic world. Reportedly, half of the guests ride the PeopleMover when visiting the Magic Kingdom. To get updates about Walt Disney World reopenings, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter.
