The popular Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card game has officially ended its run at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Fans of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom said goodbye to the popular card game this week. The interactive attraction has officially closed at the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not given a reason for its ending, and may not be replaced by something new.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom debuted in 2012 around the same time as New Fantasyland. Guests can collect cards to “battle” against popular Disney Villains around the park. We loved seeing places like the magic windows come to life when a player showed their card. Especially popular with kids and tweens, the card game will surely be missed.

Disney began Sorcerers as part of a fresh set of interactive activities around the parks. Designed to help give guests more activities to partake in during busy times—especially while waiting for a FastPass+ reservation—it was a genius way to keep visitors entertained. New playable cards were also added to events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Sorcerers ended on January 24, 2021, nearly a year after Phineas and Ferb’s interactive game concluded at Epcot. Disney is still waiting to debut a DuckTales World Showcase Adventure later this year. To get updates for Walt Disney World and tips for visiting, sign up for our free e-mail newsletter!
