Universal Studios Hollywood is the first to open a ride based on The Secret Life of Pets animated films. The colorful New York street view made popular from the movies includes replicated windows, brick, and eye-popping colors.

The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash will open on March 27, 2020. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if soft opening occur allowing guests to experience the attraction before that date.

The theme park states that guests will join characters Max, Duke, Gidget and Snowball. As it appears, guests are “adoptable” pets and see the fun and humorous moments of finding a new home.

Originally planned as a trackless dark ride, the attraction now has a classic track. However, it appears that the ride vehicles look like different types of pets. Furthermore, the story elements may change depending on which pet you ride! Overall, guests are supposed to feel that they are the adoptable animal.

Pets also uses a Virtual Line which can be accessed with the Universal Studios Hollywood app. The system is designed so that young kids won’t have to wait in the long queues during crowded times.

Fans also speculate that the Walking Dead Attraction closure on March 4 is due to The Secret Life of Pets. The attractions are located next to each other and we believe that the creepy and cartoon elements don’t mix. Guests also frequently run out of the Walking Dead Attraction screaming, which isn’t the same vibe as The Secret Life of Pets.
