Disney confirmed that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will use an updated virtual queue when it opens later this month at Hollywood Studios.

The top-billed attraction for Walt Disney World was originally not supposed to use a virtual queue. However, Disney updated this today. Now guests can reserve their turn to experience this amazing ride. Though spots are expected to go fast.

To prevent crowing, things are a little different with this virtual queue. Guests can now book at a spot at 10AM, 1PM, or 4PM. Using the My Disney Experience app, guests can find their place in line. Guests will have an hour to ride the attraction once they are called. Additionally, backup boarding groups may be used when available.

If you’ve never ridden Rise of the Resistance before, you’ll need to download the Walt Disney World app, sign in, and make sure that your park tickets are linked. Once the boarding time becomes available, you’ll be able to open the app and join a boarding group. If you miss the first time slot, you can try again for the second or third one.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopens on July 15, 2020. At this time, we’re not certain what else has changed with Rise of the Resistance. We also don’t know if guests can ride more than once in a day.
