Star Wars Nite at Disneyland is officially postponed for 2020. The news follows the cancellation of this year’s Star Wars Celebration convention.
Eager Star Wars fans will have to wait until another date to celebrate the franchise at Disneyland. The official Disneyland After Dark event sold out for its August 27, 2020 earlier this year. However, due to the cancellation of the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, the After Dark date is postponed.
Star Wars Nite was a special event at an extra paid cost. Special attractions, music, lights, character greets and more were scheduled for the event. Furthermore, guests could dress in costume, which is typically prohibited for most teens and adults. Tickets went on sale earlier in the year and sold out in record time.
So far, Disneyland hasn’t announced a rescheduled date. However, all guests with tickets to the sold out night will automatically have access to the rescheduled one. Guests wishing to receive a refund may do so by contacting (714) 781-4636.

Star Wars Nite was scheduled for the first evening of the Star Wars Celebration. The semiannual convention was to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 27 – August 30, 2020. However, the event has been cancelled and will resume in two years in August 2022. We suspect that the Disney expo, D23, is the reason that the Star Wars Celebration won’t occur in 2021.
Disneyland After Dark also postponed its Villains Nite originally scheduled on April 30th. The theme parks have been closed since mid-March and are planned to reopen on July 17th—Disneyland’s 65th anniversary.
