The Walt Disney World Resort is rolling out a new extended hours perk just for guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts.
For years, Extra Magic Hours have been a very popular perk for guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. These extended hours were usually in the morning but also sometimes late night. Guests would have early or extended access to the attractions not available to other guests.
However, Extra Magic Hours did not return with the parks last year. Ever since, hotel guests have seen fewer perks to staying on property. To remedy this, Disney World is introducing a new way to experience extended park hours.
Starting in early October, all guests staying at a Disney-owned resort hotel will have access to the theme parks 30 minutes before opening. This could make a huge difference for guests wishing to skip the bulk of the lines. In addition, guests not staying on property might find themselves waiting a bit longer as they will likely not have access to the “rope drop” ceremonies at the start of the day.
Furthermore, guests staying in the Disney Deluxe Resorts will have “extended evening hours” starting this fall. While Disney has been sparse on details, it does seem that those paying for the most expensive hotels on property will have the option to experience the parks with much fewer crowds.
