A fourth, new Disneyland hotel tower is planned for Disney Vacation Club and other travelers!
As we’ve previously reported, the Disneyland Hotel is looking to add a fourth tower to its layout. According to filings, the new construct will contain about 350 rooms and several new amenities. The tower will serve as a timeshare property for Disney Vacation Club as well as standard hotel rooms for visiting guests.
According to the Orange County Register, the site plan includes 271 studio rooms, 38 smaller studios, 20 two-bedrooms, 19 one-bedrooms, and two grand villas. Studio rooms usually have a queen sized bed, a pull-out sleeper sofa, a standard-sized bathroom, and a kitchenette. The smaller studios (also called tower studios) debuted at Disney’s Riviera Resort in 2019. These are much smaller and affordable spaces with 2-person murphy beds, a full bath, and no kitchen. All rooms could have stunning views of the pool area and even possibly some of Downtown Disney.
Other features of the new hotel include a Mickey-shaped spa, outdoor pool bar, and rooms with balconies (which the hotel does not currently have). Guests will still check in at the existing Fantasy tower before heading to their rooms.
Overall, we hope that the new rooms mean more affordable hotel rooms. The small tower studios certainly indicate that Disney is looking for luxury accommodations at a slimmed down price. Disney Vacation Club owners would also look forward to more options in Disneyland, as booking a DVC property is fairly cutthroat at the moment due to limited inventory.
If approved by the City of Anaheim, the 12-story tower will open in 2023.
