Walt Disney World is launching updated MagicBand+ devices that will include new interactive features and a dazzling design.
MagicBands are back in an all-new way! Disney announced today that MagicBand+ will debut at Walt Disney World next year. The device gets an upgrade with added features for vacation fun.
Similar to previous MagicBands, this upgraded version also allows guests to become Bounty Hunters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and interact with special gold Disney characters commemorating the 50th anniversary. In addition, the bands light up in sync with nighttime shows like Harmonious at Epcot!
Traditionally, MagicBands work at park tickets, hotel keys, and even payment. MagicBand+ promises to do all of these things and more! Disney still sells its previous MagicBands to park guests. However, hotel guests stopped receiving free MagicBands last year. Instead, Disney rolled out a free digital card that allows guests to use the same features with their mobile device.
