Regal Eagle Smokehouse restaurant in Epcot features American BBQ favorites and Sam Eagle as the Muppet host!
We’re big BBQ fans and Walt Disney World does a great job of providing delicious choices for American barbecue. For example, The Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has dishes packed with awesome flavor. Now Epcot is receiving an all-new BBQ joint in the American Pavilion. To make things even better, a famous muppet is the host of this fine establishment!
Sam Eagle, the patriotic character who first appeared on The Muppet Show, proudly presents the Regal Eagle Smokehouse. He calls it “Sam’s Centennial Cook-Off: A Salute to All Cook-Offs but Mostly Barbecue” which is the most muppetiest thing we’ve ever heard—and we can’t wait!
Adding Sam Eagle to the dining also better aligns the Regal Eagle Smokehouse with Epcot’s task of becoming “more Disney, more family, more timeless and more relevant.” While kids may not know Sam Eagle, adults certainly will and his robust sense of patriotism brings some life in the American Pavilion in World Showcase that’s it’s desperately needed for years.
The Regal Eagle Smokehouse is set to serve mouthwatering BBQ entrees like Kansas City smoked chicken, Memphis dry-rub pork ribs, North Carolina chopped smoked pork butt, and salads. There’s also a plant-based BBQ burger on vegan garlic toast. Adults can try the Tennessee Lemonade Cocktail and kids have special entrees like burgers and ribs for their size. If you have a sweet tooth, stick around for the s’mores brownie!
Best of all, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse is a quick-service restaurant, meaning that the prices shouldn’t be very high. We can’t wait to try some of these delicious-looking entrees when they are available.
Last month, we checked on the construction progress of the restaurant and it appears near complete. Disney hasn’t announced an opening for the Regal Eagle Smokehouse, but we expect it very soon! For more information and a menu, see the landing page for the upcoming BBQ joint.
