Is the Walt Disney World Resort open on Christmas Day and what are tips for visiting during the holiday season?
Disney parks are some of the most magical destinations in the world. With experiences for age, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So naturally guests would want to celebrate holiday magic at the most Magical Place on Earth. But are the Walt Disney World theme parks open on Christmas Day?
As it turns out Disney World is open on Christmas! In fact, the theme parks stay open every day (not counting unforeseen closures). Not only that, but Disney ups its game to bring the holidays to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and the rest of the resort for an extra merry time.
All four theme parks have holiday decorations around the park and on Cinderella Castle, special treats, and other seasonal surprises. The Magic Kingdom typically hosts a nighttime party called Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party with characters in their holiday best, merry music, and even special holiday versions of rides like Space Mountain! While this is an extra-paid event, other dates will still include lots of seasonal fun and decor.
The other Disney theme parks celebrate in their own way, too. Expect decorations around Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We love snacking around the holiday marketplace kiosks in Epcot and watching the Tower of Terror light up as snow falls on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios!
