It appears that the Disneyland Resort may be planning to reopen its theme parks this July. Several new updates for the resort point to this decision.
This week, the Disneyland Resort in California reopened its hotel bookings for Wednesday, July 15th. This means that guests can stay at one of the three on-site Disneyland Resort hotels starting that date. While no other details have been officially announced, it also appears that Disneyland is readying its theme parks for that time frame.
Insider sources claim that Disneyland wants to reopen for its 65th anniversary on July 17, 2020. Of course, to do so, the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure must take extra safety measures including social distancing and required face coverings for guests and Cast Members.
Furthermore, it appears that Governor Gavin Newsom will allow complying theme parks to reopen as soon as this summer. So as long as Disneyland follows the rules, it could be open in the summer. The Walt Disney World Resort has already announced its theme parks reopening beginning July 11th.
The Disneyland Resort closed its theme parks and hotels in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction for its upcoming Marvel-themed land, Avengers Campus, also paused at Disney California Adventure. However, construction crews have recently returned to resume the project.
